Self-Manage of Trash Management in Bantar Gebang Reviewed

Jakarta Cleanliness Department is still reviewing the plan of self-manage for waste management in Bantar Gebang landfill, Bekasi. The policy will be taken if the cooperation agreement (PKS) with PT Godang Tua Jaya, the management of the landfill discontinued.

Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Isnawa Adji stated that there are 4 steps taken if waste management in the landfill uses self-manage system. Firstly, his side will recruit about 444 freelancers who will get salary based on UMP.

"Regarding heavy equipment of the landfill management, if it's emergency, we will replace it with our own. If need, we will borrow from other SKPD while waiting for heavy equipment procurement next year," he stated, Monday (11/2).

Then about the budget, on the city's budget priorities and preliminary thresholds (KUA-PPAS), the department budgets the waste management service in the landfill amounted to Rp 372-763 billion. With self-manage, that amount of fund will be used for many things. Including for trucks and heavy equipment maintenance, fuel, heavy equipments purchase, etc.

The method of waste management is using the previous one.  Like with landfill sanitary system and organic waste processing to be compost.

Then raw material of the compost is gained from organic waste from PD Pasar Jaya. As for the raw material of plastic recycling, is gained from residents.
